In the blink of an eye, it's the end of 2023. It's not excessive to share a year-end review on the last day. It's short, like a diary, with many pictures.
Diary#
I still remember my internship in June 2022. It was my first time coming to Beijing and starting my internship life. Although the pay wasn't much, it was enough for rent and daily expenses. My biggest hobby was eating and drinking.
Some Mid-Autumn Festival gift boxes, I can't get them anymore since I'm no longer at headquarters, haha.
Around September 2022, I returned to school for a remote internship and also got my driver's license~
After that, I didn't have classes in the first half of my senior year, so I started preparing for my graduation project. I went back to Shenzhen to accompany my sister to a cat café. Cats are so healing! I also ate a lot, drank a lot, and had a lot of fun.
I used the money I saved from my internship to pay for tuition and bought an electric scooter for my mom.
In the second half of my senior year, around March, I returned to Beijing for another internship until the end of April. In early May, I went back to school for my graduation project and successfully defended it at the end of May (sadly).
We graduated!
In December, I had a high fever due to the flu. It was really tough.
I realized that there wasn't much to say this year. I'll save it for next year. Sigh.
Food#
Eating at home at the beginning of the year was much more comfortable than eating at school or during internships (obviously). For example, I could eat my mom's steamed pork!
Salia in Shenzhen, delicious!
Xinjiang lamb skewers near my home.
After returning to Beijing, I continued to eat and drink the same things. I even came up with a recipe for an air fryer.

I learned how to make my favorite stone pot eggs at home! Now I make them myself after work, hehehe.
I also went to eat Peking duck, Kung Pao chicken, and Squirrel-shaped Mandarin Fish a few times (the Squirrel-shaped Mandarin Fish is so delicious, but I can't afford it).
Accommodation#
When I interned in June last year, I rented a room with only a curtain separating it from the living room. It was located in Wangjing and cost 2650 yuan per month. It was very dark, a typical life in Beijing.
When I returned to Beijing for another internship in March this year, I joined the current department and rented a larger master bedroom for a little over 2500 yuan. It was spacious and bright, and I lived comfortably.
After graduating, I moved into a public rental house assigned by the company. It has one bedroom, one living room, one kitchen, and one bathroom. It's very comfortable.
Travel#
When I was in Shenzhen, I went to Huizhou Shuangyue Bay with my mom to visit my grandmother.
The snowy scenery in Beijing at the end of the year (yes, I'm a homebody and haven't gone out to play, just around the company).
The cute and ugly little snowman at the entrance of a restaurant~
Hobbies and Entertainment#
In the second half of this year, I became obsessed with making flow marbles and buying washi tape. I made a lot of flow marbles, haha.
Most of them were uploaded to my Bilibili video collection - Flow Marbles~
In the game "Eternal Return," I played until the last day of the year with my friends! (Thanks to xxx and xxx for letting me win)
As for anime, I've been following them without missing any. I'll figure out a way to keep track of the anime I watch next year. For now, I'm still following "Tokyo Revengers."

Projects#
This year, I mainly focused on my own small projects and maintaining the TG channel.
- Maintained the TG channel: cosine - Front-end Daily Channel @cosine_front_end Daily thoughts, occasional high-quality front-end blog recommendations, learning resources, etc.
-
Created a new TG image channel: Cosine 🎨 Gallery @cosinegallery
-
Integrated a search bot @cosSearchBot to consolidate information and easily search for it (I personally use it frequently, hehe)
-
Integrated an image bot @cosPicBot for convenient image sharing, like this (hehehe). Thanks to my wife for setting it up Nahida_Picbot
- Worked on Memos, a memo website. Just three steps to send a message to the bot and save it on the website:
- Register your own account here: https://memo.cosine.ren/auth
- Send /start to the @cosMemosbot to get your Telegram UserID (https://usememos.com/docs/integration/telegram-bot), then enter it in the website settings - Preferences.
- Send a message or forward a message to the bot, and it will be saved on the website by default (private).
Website: https://memo.cosine.ren/ More integration will be done in the future.
- Set up a monitoring dashboard: https://uptime.cosine.ren/status/cosine
-
Added some tools to my toolbox that I frequently use (yes, only I use them, hehe)
-
Worked on my small display cabinet: https://space.cosine.ren/gallery
Summary#
For me, this year was quite ordinary and everything was calm.
Because I've already shared most of what I wanted to say and summarize in the channel, I won't repeat it here, including other year-end reviews.
Overall, I've been quite lazy in the second half of this year when it comes to technology. I mostly just used existing tools and services instead of focusing on maintaining my own projects. I haven't felt like coding much since I had a high fever due to the flu. I'll code more in the new year! Happy New Year!
