Preface#
For me, 2024 is a year of balancing life and work, leaning even more towards life. In other words, it has been an extremely "fulfilled" year, with only one daily channel and one photo gallery channel continuously operating. Let's consider it a year of knowledge acquisition!
Low emotional intelligence: After a year of procrastination, projects can be delayed, and I’m too lazy to write my blog.
High emotional intelligence: I’ve lived seriously for a year, contemplating how to structure projects better instead of writing purely for fun. I’m not very interested in writing low-tech blogs, while I’m on the path of writing high-tech content (drafts).
This year, the overall feeling of the internet is one of restlessness and unease. In a poor social environment, more and more people, including those around me, have started to feel emo. Personally, I’ve been emo very little this year, which I attribute to my habit of eating delicious food whenever I feel unhappy, which lifts my spirits (of course, the opposite happens when I’m particularly hungry 😈). Additionally, I think it’s important to have a good cry when feeling down!
In my view, my biggest gain in 2024 is that I’ve learned how to love myself, how to love others, and how to love this world.

Travel#
This year, I unlocked quite a few new places, partly because after buying the Pocket 3, I enjoyed going out and taking pictures more, feeling like I’ve finally gone out after years of staying indoors, haha. On the other hand, I spent the first half of the year in Beijing and the second half at home in Shenzhen, which increased my opportunities to go out.
Beijing Drum Tower#
On January 19, my grandmother and cousin came to Beijing and wanted to stroll around, so I went with them～
Tianjin Trip#
On March 30, I went to Tianjin with a friend; my dad works there, so I went to visit.
The Tianjin Zoo is quite interesting; it’s the kind of zoo located in a shopping mall, but there are quite a few animals~
My friend and I stayed at two hotels in Tianjin Binhai New Area over two days; this hotel had the atmosphere I liked the most! The Mo Tai Holiday Inn in Tianjin Binhai New Area, where we watched the annual meeting without stopping for a movie.
Shenzhen - Zhuhai - Macau Ferry Trip#
Took the ferry to Zhuhai, then went to Macau. The whole trip was nice with a shuttle bus, but my shoes were uncomfortable that day, so I couldn’t walk for too long. Every time I entered the casino, they had to check my Hong Kong and Macau travel permit 👿 I look too young.
Unfortunately, photography is not allowed in the casino.
Shenzhen Happy Valley Halloween#
To be honest, the Halloween atmosphere at Shenzhen Happy Valley's Amazing Tide Play Festival is quite strong, with many NPCs I didn’t take pictures of, and the haunted house was very fun～
When I went, there weren’t many people, so it was fine.
Hong Kong Disneyland#
I went to Hong Kong Disneyland with my sister and had a blast! It also fulfilled a childhood dream.
The food was just average.

Hong Kong Victoria Harbour & Strolling#
Went with friends to get a Hong Kong card, then traveled around Hong Kong～ I really love the water here; it sparkles and the sea breeze is very comfortable. After staying here for a while, the smell of sweat on me faded a lot, and the night view looks incredibly beautiful.
The architecture in Hong Kong feels very much like Hong Kong, and I also saw a few places that felt very post-apocalyptic (）

Games#
Regarding games, I previously posted a long message, and now I’ll repost it~~ for appearances~~:
Ah, by the way, let me briefly talk about my views on gaming. I belong to the type of player who enjoys a variety of games with a short attention span. (Super diverse food king!)
- For quality Steam single-player games / AAA: If conditions allow, I buy them, play them happily, and let them sit in my library (I might not have time or interest to finish them). If they’re already in my library, even better, no need to buy more (thanks to a certain rich friend for sharing a bunch of games). For me, Steam games are spiritual food, but I’m not pursuing 100% achievements or completion (it takes too much time; since I’ve paid for the game, why spend more time playing it?). I’ve played through the second round of Black Myth but got stuck, so I’ll put it down and pick it up whenever I feel like it.
- For casual / work games: These games are for leisure and quick enjoyment, providing brief happiness. I’ve played many mobile games like Genshin Impact, Honkai Impact, and others; generally, the excitement doesn’t last long. Those that can keep me engaged for a while have some factors involved. I played Genshin for two years before quitting, and I log into Honkai daily now. I also tried it when it first came out, but it didn’t suit my taste. I played for a few months before quitting. While I know these games will eventually become outdated, I still look at character guides and recommended equipment. Most of these games are free-to-play, and when I follow community guides, my brain automatically filters out the rhythm / arguments / discussions (most of the time, I think it’s just fast food for me, so there’s no need to care about future developments). I’m also very willing to try new mobile games on the market, even though many times they aren’t fun. The main enjoyment of these games comes from free pulls, story, character design, combat design, graphics, etc., and there’s always a dimension that might fall short.
- For female-oriented games: I’ve touched on games like Kizuna AI, Shining Nikki, Love and Producer, and others. I played Kizuna AI for two years in high school and quit, and I played Shining Nikki for two years in college and quit. These are also considered fast food. I played Love and Producer / Shining Nikki / Uncertain for a short while in the early years, but now as a working adult, I feel nothing. I still prefer Paper Games; they’ve developed quite a bit in the gaming field. These games don’t require community engagement; just following official media is enough. Events are cyclical, and I can log in for 5 minutes to clear everything and log off, with the main enjoyment being raising daughters and dress-up play.
- For online games / client games, I played many when I was younger (like Crossfire, Mole Manor, Sailor Moon, Flower Fairy, 3D Dance, Pikachu, all of which are true black history, ah, I said it). I played Sword Three for a while in high school, but now it suddenly has no appeal to me. Now I occasionally play Naraka: Bladepoint; for me, playing client games is just a way to recharge social energy. Sometimes after work, I happily call my friends to play a few rounds, chatting and having fun. The same goes for multiplayer games on Steam; the community of these games feels like a dining table for everyone, focusing on being enjoyable.

Black Myth#
Undoubtedly my favorite game of the year, I completed the first round, but halfway through the second round, I suddenly lost motivation to continue (my issue). I’m still working on a blog post about it, sorry Black Myth.

Cosmic Robot#
Encountered the best game of the year, unable to defeat it despite my best efforts (yes, I’m the one who bought the little robot at full price of over 400, even with bonuses). To be honest, the game itself is fine and quite fun, but I personally feel that it doesn’t deserve the title of game of the year.
Mita#
A newly released psychological horror romance game in the second half of the year (let’s say so) is really fun. I was drawn to its style and saw the demo in July last year; I didn’t expect it to be so interesting, and I live-streamed it after playing.
When I learned that the development team only had two people, I was deeply impressed, and this game has a lasting impact; I can think of it even in the dark of night.

Cats#
The luckiest thing is that on February 22, Cat Day, I adopted Laba, and you can see her growth and daily life at Yuxian's Cat Raising Daily 🐱~
I adopted her from a young lady; she found her on Laba, so this little cutie is named Laba~
The young lady rescued her from cat plague by buying medicine and feeding her, which was really not easy.
When I adopted her, she was about 5 months old and weighed 3.55kg; now she is about 1 year and 3 months old and weighs 4.5kg, a calm old cat.

I had a very happy year (fulfilled) without any regrets, a year of happiness after graduating and being capable, drawing a perfect conclusion.

Blog and Flags#
I haven’t updated the blog much this year, mainly due to laziness and wanting to do too many things, leading to a lot of procrastination and no clear direction.
This video suddenly came to mind:
Humanity once firmly believed in the management bible born from the industrial revolution, gradually destroying daily life with excessive time management. Now we believe that tools and algorithms will reshape life’s order, but everything will only get worse. To make this video, we found a strange example in the book "The Beauty of Algorithms: Algorithms Guiding Work and Life." The author believes it’s a classic case; we think it’s an irreparable bug, constantly reminding us that humans are not machines.
So let’s set some flags here, hoping to accomplish them next year～
- Implement proper time management
- Exercise more, lose weight (goal is to return to a normal BMI)
- Open-source some interesting projects
- Write a blog about browsers from A to Z
- Write a blog recommending VSCode plugins for 2024 (now it’s Cursor, but they’re all compatible)
- Write a blog about Three.js (in progress)
- Successfully migrate the blog to Astro and start a new journey

- A website for displaying game screenshots (either a remake or a new one, or included in the blog)

Although sometimes I feel procrastination due to wanting to do too many things, I must always maintain enthusiasm for life and anticipation for the future.
